Broadcasting the PSAs
in your region
TYPS has put
together 5 PSAs to date, and started circulating them. Rogers has
aired 4 of them on 8 channels 684 times between June and
October; they are picking up the anti-tobacco video now. CJOH has
aired one in Eastern Ontario. It's great promotion for the value of
your youth
centre.
Do contact
your local cable company to get the PSAs aired right away.
These PSAs will help raise the profile of
youth centres in the public eye. They
will not get aired in your region unless you contact your local cable
company. Let them know that TYPS is a
charitable organization, which opens the door for their broadcast. You may strategize; bringing in 2 to start with,
then 2 more different ones in a few months time - this may
stretch out the airing.
- Contact your local broadcaster.
- Send
them the links to the previews of the PSAs online, download them to put
them on a CD and bring them in with you when you meet their promotions
person.
- Let them know that TYPS as a Telecaster number
for each one – the number is a pre-requisite, and TYPS will sent it in
to them.
- Ask them what format TYPS needs to submit the
PSA in – likely they will want a Betacam copy to meet Broadcast
standards.
Send
us the contact information, especially a
name and a phone number.
